Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first edition of Bodoland Mohotsov on Friday evening at New Delhi's KD Jadhav Wrestling Stadium. This vibrant cultural festival celebrates the rich heritage of Bodoland and is organized by the All-Bodo Students' Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and other cultural associations.
The event will feature an inaugural ceremony attended by Assam's Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and the CEM of the Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro. Modi will pay tribute to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma and is anticipated to witness traditional Bodo dance performances like 'Bagurumba' and 'Rwnswndri', along with visits to exhibitions showcasing Bodo GI-tagged items and cultural artifacts.
The two-day festival themed 'Peace and Harmony for a Prosperous Bharat' will include thousands of cultural and art enthusiasts. Discussions on Bodo language achievements, tourism potential, and the impact of the 2020 Bodo Peace Accord will also take place. Concluding events will highlight Bodoland's transformation into a peaceful melting pot of indigenous communities.
