In a compelling address on Sunday, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya underscored the indispensable role of civil services in nation-building, referring to them as a 'sacred path' in fostering a welfare state. Speaking at the Assam Civil Services Examination preparatory session held under the Pratibha Protsahan Yojana at the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University, he emphasized the importance of civil servants acting as a robust bridge between the government and the public.
Highlighting the event's significance, Governor Acharya unveiled a 12-foot bronze statue of Krishna Kanta Handique, paying floral tributes as part of the ceremony. As part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, he also planted a sapling on campus, marking the event's commitment to environmental consciousness and honoring assistance from the State Bank of India in realizing the statue.
Governor Acharya motivated the youth by stressing the 'Nation First' ideology and the importance of preserving cultural heritage while modernizing education and technology. He acknowledged the pivotal role of mentors and coaching institutions in shaping students for civil services, urging aspirants to commit seriously to their preparation. The Governor also expressed gratitude toward mentors like Simmi Karan, Aranyak Saikia, Aditya Vikram Singh, and Amit Mahto, acknowledging the contributions of the Pratibha Protsahan Yojana initiative launched as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday celebration.
