The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) successfully intervened to allow students from J&K at Karnataka's Government College of Nursing in Holenarasipura to keep their beards, following the director and principal's instructions. Dr. Rajanna B, leading Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, stated that the issue was resolved on Sunday.

The conflict arose as some J&K students were reportedly not adhering to punctuality and dress codes, leading to complaints. The instructors had advised shaving beards, prompting students to voice concerns through the JKSA. Discussions led to a solution favoring the students' preferences, permitting their freedom of expression and satisfying all parties involved.

Following discussions with college authorities, students expressed relief and felt secure within the institution. The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, the J&K Students Association reached out to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, highlighting issues like attendance impacts due to the enforcement of beard-trimming guidelines.
