A student preparing for her NEET exam in Kanpur endured a harrowing six-month ordeal of alleged abuse and confinement by two of her teachers, according to police reports released on Saturday.
The disturbing events began in December 2022 when the student was reportedly lured by teacher Sahil Siddiqui to a flat under false pretenses, where she was drugged and assaulted. Co-accused Vikas Porwal allegedly joined in the crime later, with charges of rape, wrongful confinement, and intimidation pressed against them under IPC and POCSO Act provisions.
Initially hesitant to report the crimes out of fear for her family, the student found the courage after seeing video evidence of Siddiqui's similar inappropriate behavior. The case highlights serious safety concerns within educational environments.
