In a significant move ahead of the Diwali celebrations, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has announced a Non-Productivity Linked Bonus for its employees. The financial allocation, amounting to Rs. 60.51 crore, is a testament to the AAP Government's commitment to recognizing the steadfast contributions of its workforce.
Speaking on the announcement, Mayor Shelly Oberoi remarked that, in line with Arvind Kejriwal's vision, the administration is dedicated to supporting MCD employees by ensuring their hard work does not go unnoticed. The Diwali bonus for the fiscal year 2023-24 is being extended to all Group C employees and Group B non-gazetted employees who have completed at least six months of service.
The bonus scheme grants eligible employees a sum of Rs. 6,908 on a prorated basis. Moreover, daily wage employees who have been with the organization for at least 240 days over the past three years will receive Rs. 1,108. To facilitate swift and error-free disbursement, the MCD has launched a tailored bonus disbursal application, which directly credits the bonus into employees' bank accounts, minimizing manual intervention by the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO). For situations where the application cannot be employed, the DDO will manage disbursement through physical bills.
