On the auspicious occasion of Shri Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded an inauguration spree, launching and laying the cornerstone for key health initiatives estimated at a staggering Rs 12,850 crores. The venue for this ambitious undertaking was the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi.

Notably, PM Modi, in collaboration with Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, unveiled a cutting-edge medical device manufacturing unit at Meril Company, located in Chala, Vapi taluka of Valsad district, via a meticulous video conferencing setup.

Gujarat's CM gave a firsthand look at 'Meril Park-1', scrutinizing the operations at Meril Company's manufacturing units, the Cancer Research Center, and the field of surgical robotics. His inspection encompassed heart valves, stents, and cancer research activities. Key insights into Meril Studio's production of diverse medical devices, including trauma and orthopaedic implants, and India's pioneering robot (Misho) for knee replacement, were also gained.

He subsequently inaugurated the 'Merai Data Center' at Meril Academy, which is set to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to transform healthcare on a global scale by harnessing health data to drive drug research, enhance patient treatment precision, and diagnostic accuracy. Adding to this, he unveiled literature on 'Meril Sankalp' and the intersection of climate change and health. The removal of the age barrier for Ayushman cards for those aged 70 and above was another highlight, facilitating senior citizens with easier healthcare access.

The Prime Minister further unwrapped the U-WIN portal, designed to streamline vaccine data for expectant mothers and children. The event showcased impactful short films underscoring Ayurveda's significance and the pharmaceutical sector's dynamics. Meril Company's CEO, Vivek Shah, accompanied by Anjum Bilkhiya, offered Chief Minister Patel a detailed presentation, encapsulating the company's strategy aligning with initiatives such as 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
