Tragedy Strikes Sikar: Bus Accident Claims 12 Lives
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for families of the deceased in Sikar's bus accident. In a tragic mishap in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, at least 12 people lost their lives when a bus coming from Salasar collided with a culvert near Laxmangarh on Tuesday. More than 30 passengers sustained injuries in the accident.
In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased. Additionally, Rs 50,000 will be provided to those injured, as conveyed by the Prime Minister's Office.
Authorities at SK Hospital in Sikar confirmed that out of the 12 fatalities, 5 victims succumbed while receiving medical treatment. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, and injured patients have been transferred to Jaipur for advanced care as needed.
