Tragedy Strikes as Air Raids Devastate Southern Ukraine
Russian air attacks have resulted in five deaths and injuries to 19 others, including five children, in southern Ukraine. The attacks caused fires and destruction in the Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. Despite denials from both sides, the majority of casualties since the invasion started have been Ukrainians.
Russian airstrikes have led to the deaths of at least five individuals and injured 19 more, including five children, in southern Ukraine overnight, according to regional governors.
In the Mykolaiv region, four people lost their lives, and one fatality was reported in the Zaporizhzhia region, where a residential building was demolished. The injured in Zaporizhzhia included five children aged between 4 and 17.
Reuters has not independently corroborated these accounts, and Russia has yet to comment. Although both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians, the majority of fatalities since the 2022 invasion have been Ukrainians. The Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia regions experienced air raid warnings due to ongoing Russian drone threats throughout the night.
