A tragic incident unfolded in the village of Lakhanpur, where a 16-year-old girl allegedly hanged herself two days after her family accused a local youth of molestation, police reported. The case has led to the suspension of two officers for negligence.
Superintendent of Police Vikrant Vir confirmed that Head Constable Munib Yadav and Constable Vikas Kumar Yadav, stationed at Sikandarpur Police Station, were suspended due to 'gross negligence of duty, indifference, inaction, and indiscipline.'
The complaint, lodged by the victim's parents, accused a youth of molesting their daughter as she attended coaching classes, followed by threatening phone calls. However, local officers failed to report the situation to their superiors, compromising the investigation.
