Ravi Gandhi, the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Eastern Command of the Border Security Force (BSF), conducted a two-day visit to the Meghalaya Frontier from October 20 to 21, 2024. This visit focused on reviewing the current security landscape and deliberating on various operational and administrative border management strategies.

During the visit, ADG Gandhi met with Meghalaya's Chief Secretary, Donald Phillips Wahlang, and the Director General of Police, Nongrang, to discuss border-related challenges. The visit was particularly timely, coming in the wake of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ousting, which escalated into a national crisis.

Gandhi engaged with local communities in South West Garo Hills, advocating for enhanced community relations and ensuring border safety. He also received a Guard of Honor and attended a comprehensive briefing on the operational readiness of BSF forces in the area. Collaborative meetings with key government officials emphasized a unified approach to northeastern border security.
