In a concerted drive to maintain stability in Manipur, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police have seized 12 weapons and related warlike materials. A press release from the Indian Army detailed their joint intelligence-driven operations conducted across the hilly and valley regions of the state, highlighting the coordinated effort amongst various security agencies.

During the past week, seamless coordination among these forces led to the recovery of significant armaments. On October 15, 2024, a search and recovery mission launched by the Indian Army alongside Manipur Police in Leirongthel Pitra, a fringe location of Thoubal district, yielded an impressive haul including an AK 56 rifle, a carbine machine gun, and grenades. The following day, an operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police near Cannan Veng village, Churachandpur District, resulted in the recovery of a range of firearms and ammunition, including a .303 rifle and a 9mm pistol.

The successful operations highlight the synergy between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security teams in their pursuit of peace. Their efforts not only demonstrate a durable commitment to restoring order but also strengthen the trust within local communities, aiding efforts to return to normalcy.
