BJP Announces First List for Jharkhand Assembly Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party released its initial list of 66 candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, featuring prominent figures like state chief Babulal Marandi. The party is in alliance with NDA partners, AJSU, JD(U), and LJP. Elections are scheduled for November 13 and 20.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday disclosed its first list of candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, announcing 66 names. Leading the charge is state BJP chief Babulal Marandi, who is set to contest from Dhanwar. Other notable candidates include Lobin Hembrom from Borio and Sita Soren from Jamtara.
Among other prominent nominations, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren will vie for the Saraikella seat, with Geeta Balmuchu from Chaibasa, Geeta Koda from Jaganathpur, and Meera Munda, spouse of Union Minister Arjun Munda, from Potka. Additionally, Ragini Singh has been fielded from Jharia, Prunima Das Sahu from Jamshedpur East, and Pushpa Devi Buiyan from Chhatarpur.
The party announced its electoral strategy will be in coalition with NDA partners including the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party. BJP will contest 68 seats, while AJSU will compete for 10, JD(U) for 2, and LJP one. The elections are slated for November, spanning two phases, with results expected on November 23.
