The Odisha government, led by the BJP, has announced a significant transformation of its flagship rural welfare initiative. Renamed from 'Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha' to 'Bikasit Gaan Bikasit Odisha', the scheme aims to enhance village development statewide.
The previous BJD administration inaugurated the program, which is active across all 30 districts. The government plans to unveil new guidelines that emphasize the role of community meetings and panchayat representatives in implementing village projects.
With a focus on proposals from rural residents, the scheme promises to bring various amenities like internet access, sports infrastructure, self-help group training centers, banking facilities, and digital connectivity to empower local communities.
