Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Sampurnanand Stadium, a cutting-edge sports complex created under the Khelo India initiative in Varanasi's Sigra area, on October 20. This stadium, equipped with a 180-room hostel and able to host 50 different sports like Judo, Karate, and Cricket to international standards, promises to be a significant resource for athletic development in the region.

The stadium's construction marks a new milestone for Purvanchal in nurturing talented athletes, offering modern facilities and training grounds for young sports enthusiasts. PM Modi had previously assessed the project's progression on June 18, emphasizing its importance for benefiting the youth in Kashi. His social media message highlighted the transformative potential of this sports venue.

Besides this development, PM Modi has embarked on a critical diplomatic voyage to Vientiane for the 21st ASEAN-India and the 19th East Asia Summits. Invited by Laos' Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, the Indian leader aims to address key issues such as regional peace, stability, and economic collaboration, marking the tenth year of the 'Act East Policy' and emphasizing India's deep-rooted cultural ties with Southeast Asia, enriched by the shared heritage of Buddhism and Ramayana.
