Welcomed with ceremonial honors, Modi was received by Laos' Minister of Home Affairs Vilayvong Bouddakham. The visit coincides with a special milestone, as India celebrates a decade of its Act East policy, which has brought significant benefits to the nation.

During the summits, Modi will discuss progress with ASEAN leaders regarding the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and address regional challenges within the Indo-Pacific context. He aims to deepen bilateral relations with Lao PDR, emphasizing shared cultural and civilizational ties rooted in Buddhism and the Ramayana heritage.
