The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) conducted an online public hearing regarding the city's new electricity tariff rates, only to face a boycott from the resident welfare associations (RWAs).

Saurabh Gandhi, general secretary of the United Residents of Delhi, stated that the RWAs were dissatisfied with the short notice for the event and demanded that future hearings be physical as pandemic threats have subsided.

Out of the 22 participants registered for the two-day hearing, merely seven were RWA members, Gandhi mentioned. The organisations intend to meet the LG and the chief minister to request the cancellation and rescheduling of the hearing in physical form. BS Vohra from East Delhi RWA Joint Front also questioned the necessity of virtual hearings in the current situation.
