Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, spearheaded a pivotal meeting in New Delhi focused on addressing employment data and overseas emigration trends. Also present was Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, in talks held on Monday.

Key discussions with the Ministry of External Affairs and NITI Aayog emphasized improving coordination and data integration for both domestic job creation and overseas employment. Mandaviya underscored the necessity of a mechanism to comprehensively track citizens heading abroad for employment and studies, advocating for the integration of various governmental platforms, including the National Career Service portal and state portals, to provide a holistic view of employment dynamics.

Additional discussions highlighted the role of industry associations in gathering employment data and spotlighted NITI Aayog's potential as a central body for compiling data from multiple government ministries. The standardization of contracts with foreign employers and the evaluation of Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangements and Social Security Agreements were also proposed for improving their effectiveness.

NITI Aayog presented findings from studies on employment portals, stressing the need for a unified platform to centralize employment data across government schemes. The meeting reaffirmed the government's dedication to addressing data discrepancies, particularly within the informal sector, and developing an extensive employment data framework to guide policy and job creation strategies.

The session concluded with robust resolve to fortify employment data cooperation, amplify international employment prospects, and safeguard Indian workers overseas. The envisioned Unified Employment Data Portal is set to revolutionize data centralization, while the integration of eMigrate and national career services intends to expand access to global job markets.
