Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary for Communications, has raised allegations regarding the delay in updating the Haryana Assembly election vote count on the Election Commission's website, asserting that this could be a strategy by the BJP to influence the election outcome by sharing 'outdated and misleading' trends.
Ramesh announced that the Congress is filing a formal complaint, expecting the Election Commission to address their concerns. While 10-11 rounds of results have already been counted, the site only reflects updates for 4-5 rounds, a delay Ramesh suggests is intended to pressure the electoral administration.
Earlier, in a social media post, Ramesh likened the situation to the Lok Sabha elections, expressing concern over the potential misuse of outdated data to manipulate narratives. He urged immediate corrective actions, emphasizing the need for true and accurate figures to prevent misinformation and the influence of vote counting processes still underway.
