Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday leveled serious allegations against the Congress, accusing the party of engaging in appeasement politics and looting the people of Haryana. Dhami made the comments during a public meeting in Basana village, Kalanaur, where he endorsed BJP candidate Renu Dabla for the upcoming elections.

'The picture of Haryana has transformed from 2014 to 2024,' Dhami claimed, highlighting significant developments under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'In the last ten years, work has been carried out to uplift the poor, farmers, and working class. Rapid advancements have been seen in the fields of roads, railways, airports, hospitals, schools, and medical colleges in Haryana,' he added. Dhami also mentioned that pure drinking water is now being delivered to every household and free gas connections have been provided to 24 lakh poor families.

Further emphasizing the developmental strides, Dhami said, '1.50 lakh state youth have secured government jobs, and 5.50 lakh students have received free tablets. A compensation amounting to Rs 12,500 crore has been disbursed for crop losses faced by farmers. Additionally, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign initiated by the Prime Minister has brought significant change to Haryana.' He also noted the increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for various crops.

Dhami touted several welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and Kisan Samman Nidhi, asserting that the BJP government in Haryana includes all 36 communities. He contrasted this with Congress, accusing the opposition party of corruption, land usurpation, and oppression of Dalits and women. 'Congress has looted Haryana and has not had the opportunity to indulge in corruption for a long time, so they want to regain power to continue their corrupt practices,' Dhami alleged.

Haryana is set to vote on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with vote counting scheduled for October 8. In the last election held in 2019, the BJP emerged as the largest party, winning 40 seats, while the Congress secured 30 seats.
