Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday inspected the Kavach 4.0 system in Rajasthan. He announced its inaugural implementation in India, beginning from Sawai Madhopur. Vaishnaw disclosed plans to extend this system to 10,000 locomotives over the coming years.

The minister addressed rising concerns over passenger safety due to recent stone-pelting incidents on trains. He assured that strict action would be taken against those involved. 'The railway staff is working closely with state governments to address these issues,' Vaishnaw stated.

Vaishnaw emphasized continuous collaboration with state police forces to bolster safety measures. He highlighted the advancements in railway security facilitated by the Kavach system. 'Kavach is a significant development for railway security,' the minister said. The system enhances train safety and includes automatic brakes for loco pilots under specific conditions.
