Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sainik School in Jaipur on Monday, with Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari in attendance. During his address, Singh emphasized the Union government's initiative to establish 100 new Sainik schools under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model.
"Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the government has decided to start 100 Sainik Schools. Traditionally, these schools were managed through joint efforts of the central and state governments, but the new ones will operate under the PPP Model," Singh stated. He underscored the critical role of the private sector in driving the nation's growth.
Singh noted, "The private sector's contribution is increasing, with 50% of India's workforce employed in it. The private sector leads in manufacturing and services, holding the driver's seat." He commended the success of Sainik School alumni, highlighting that both the current Army Chief, Upendra Dwivedi, and Navy Chief, Dinesh Tripathi, are from Sainik School Rewa.
Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, MP Manju Sharma, former MP Ramcharan Bohra, and former Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore also attended the event. Singh praised the new Sainik School in Jaipur as part of the government's vision to collaborate with NGOs, state governments, and private institutions to set up 100 new schools nationwide.
