Jharkhand is on the cusp of a chilly spell, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting a sharp temperature plunge by up to five degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours.
Amid the approaching New Year celebrations, the state is expected to endure cold day conditions accompanied by dense fog in some areas, according to Abhishek Anand, who heads the Ranchi Meteorological Centre. The weather is set to remain dry, with morning fog a likelihood for the next five days.
The minimum temperatures in the region have hovered around 11 to 14 degrees Celsius, with northern parts of Jharkhand experiencing particularly dense fog in the mornings.
