Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commended the Union Cabinet's approval of the 'One Nation, One Election' proposal, calling it a 'milestone' for ensuring political stability. In a post on 'X,' he emphasised its importance for a flourishing democracy and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also praised the decision, highlighting that simultaneous elections will save both time and resources which can be redirected towards essential sectors like health and education. Dhami termed the move as 'historic' for strengthening Indian democracy.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant echoed similar sentiments, stating that the reform will bring stability, define government terms, and conserve resources. HD Kumaraswamy, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, called the initiative a significant step towards improving India's electoral system. Meanwhile, Congress leader Manish Tewari raised concerns about the implications for federalism.
