Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the 'Swachhta hi Seva' campaign on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, emphasizing the need for cleanliness in schools, temples, residences, and public spaces. He highlighted the importance of cleanliness initiatives, beginning with PM Modi's inauguration of the drive from the Red Fort on August 15, 2014.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister remarked, 'Before 2014, cleanliness was not given much importance, but since then, numerous steps such as the construction of toilets have been taken to maintain cleanliness.' The Chief Minister also marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, lauding his dedication towards serving the nation. 'We have fulfilled our electoral promise by sanctioning 18 lakh houses under the PM Awas Yojana in the first cabinet meeting,' Sai stated. The celebration saw participation from MLAs Purinder Mishra, Motilal Sahu, and Mayor Ajaz Daber.

Earlier in the day, CM Sai commemorated Vishwakarma Diwas with prayers and rituals, seeking blessings for happiness, peace, and prosperity for the people.
