Former Madhya Pradesh Minister and BJP MLA Hardeep Singh Dang has issued a sharp rebuke to Rahul Gandhi over recent remarks made in the US concerning the Sikh community, calling them painful and condemnable. Dang insisted that Gandhi should issue a public apology.

"It is very painful and condemnable that whenever Rahul Gandhi goes abroad, he returns insulting India. Rahul Gandhi's remark on Sikh community is very painful. I believe there is respect for Sikh community across the globe but if he speaks such things then it is shameful," Dang said, as reported by ANI. Responding to Charanjit Singh Channi's support for Gandhi, Dang said Channi should use a 'filter' in his mind.

Dang questioned Channi's motives, linking his backing of Gandhi to attempts at self-preservation and called on him to address issues related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. He also criticized pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's support of Gandhi's comment, labeling it as further evidence of Gandhi's alignment with divisive forces.

"I demand that Rahul Gandhi should apologize to the nation. If he doesn't do so then we will oppose him as Sikh community has always supported the truth. I believe that the 1984 anti-Sikh riots are in front of him and terrorist organisations are supporting him, so the country is watching him and he should apologize to the nation," Dang added. Rahul Gandhi, during an interaction with the Indian diaspora in the US, stated the fight is about whether a Sikh is allowed to wear a turban and visit Gurdwaras in India.
