The Supreme Court has granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged excise policy scam, leading to a wave of jubilation among Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders. His wife, Sunita Kejriwal, congratulated the 'AAP family' for standing strong and wished for the release of other detained AAP members. 'Congratulations to AAP family! Kudos for staying strong. Wishing also the soonest release of our other leaders,' she posted on X.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha expressed gratitude towards the Supreme Court, heralding Kejriwal as a symbol of honest politics. 'He had to go to jail for 6 months due to his growing popularity... AAP will gain more strength. Welcome Back Arvind Kejriwal... We will devise further strategy after reviewing the final order,' Chadha stated.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the judicial vindication of Kejriwal. 'The truth has prevailed in the fight against lies and conspiracies. BJP's ploys to arrest an honest man working for the people have failed. We salute the Supreme Court and the Constitution,' Sisodia remarked.

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari also welcomed the verdict, highlighting the misuse of central agencies against opposition. 'First Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, now Kejriwal... The Supreme Court found the case to be bailable. This is a victory against an environment of fear,' Tiwari commented.

The Supreme Court's decision, announced on Friday, stated that prolonged incarceration would amount to unjust deprivation of liberty. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, and subsequently by the CBI on June 26, 2024, in connection with the alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22.
