Delhi's Patiala House Court on Thursday remanded 11 individuals accused in the Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) module case to judicial custody. The accused, reportedly part of a training module led by Dr. Ishtiyaque Ahmed from Ranchi, were detained following police interrogation.

The court decisions came after Delhi Police sought the judicial custody of the accused to prevent further offenses, destruction or tampering with evidence, and threats to related individuals. The accused include Anamul Ansari, Shanaz Ansari, Altaf Ansari, Hasan Ansari, Arshad Khan, Umar Farooq, Mohd Rizwan, Motiur Rehaman, Rehmatullahi, and Faizan Ahmed. They have been remanded until September 26.

As per police reports, a coordinated intelligence operation by the Special Cell of Delhi Police alongside state forces from Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh led to the busting of the AQIS module. The police seized arms, ammunition, and various contraband materials. The module, allegedly led by Dr. Ishtiyaque Ahmed, aimed to declare Khilafat and execute serious terrorist activities within the country.
