RPF Seizes 5 kg Gold Worth Rs 4.5 Crore on Amritsar-Howrah Mail
The Railway Protection Force seized 5 kg of gold worth Rs 4.5 crore from Amritsar-Howrah Mail in Ambala. Four passengers were apprehended, and a case has been registered. Meanwhile, the Agartala GRP and RPF conducted a joint operation, confiscating 100 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Wednesday seized approximately 5 kilograms of gold, valued at Rs 4.5 crore, from the Amritsar-Howrah Mail in Ambala. RPF officials reported that the gold was discovered in the possession of four passengers.
Ambala Cantt Railway Protection Force post officials, led by Jawed Khan, were conducting routine checks in the lead-up to state elections when they intercepted the passengers. A formal case has been registered under Section 146 of the Railway Act.
Income tax authorities have been alerted regarding the seizure, which is one of the most significant by Northern Railway's RPF. In a separate incident, Agartala GRP and RPF seized 100 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup during a joint search operation at Agartala railway station. The cough syrup, marked as unclaimed, was confiscated, and authorities have initiated an investigation to identify the persons responsible. The seized syrup holds an estimated market value of Rs 21,120. (ANI)
