Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Praveen Khandelwal has condemned West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of failing to take prompt action in the rape and murder case of a postgraduate trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Khandelwal criticized Banerjee's delayed meeting with protesting doctors.

"Where was Mamata Banerjee when the doctors were protesting? She could have called them up and done the meeting earlier. She has failed in this whole matter and was not able to take any steps," Khandelwal stated. He highlighted former TMC MP Jawhar Sircar's resignation and urged Banerjee to address Sircar's concerns to maintain trust.

Khandelwal also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his comments on the Sikh community, suggesting that Gandhi was creating a misleading narrative aimed at undermining PM Narendra Modi's growing popularity. "Rahul Gandhi is saying this because PM Modi's popularity is rising among the people. This is wrong and misleading," he added.
