In West Bengal, protests have intensified following the alleged molestation of minor girls in Madhyamgram and the Howrah district. These incidents come amid an ongoing outcry over the rape and murder of a junior doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

A nine-year-old girl in Madhyamgram was allegedly molested by a man from her village. The incident triggered protests, with locals demonstrating in front of the accused's home. The girl's father told ANI that the accused took his daughter to a shop and assaulted her, resulting in widespread anger.

Following the revelation, an FIR was lodged, and the police arrested the accused. The father demanded the harshest punishment for the perpetrator. Simultaneously, a similar case surfaced at the Howrah Government Hospital, where another minor girl was allegedly molested. BJP leaders criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, questioning her ability to protect women in the state.
