Emanating from a tragic building collapse in Lucknow's Transport Nagar that claimed eight lives, the Lucknow Divisional Commissioner has mandated a structural audit of the site, officials reported. The scrutinized team comprises experts from the National Forensic Science University Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD). The audit focuses on assessing the building's material and quality.

According to the Lucknow Administration, the specialized team facilitated by the National Forensic Science University is scheduled to arrive in Lucknow by Tuesday evening. 'Lucknow Divisional Commissioner has instructed a structural audit of the collapsed building at Transport Nagar. A team of experts from the National Forensic Science University Gandhinagar, Gujarat, will conduct this investigation and reach Lucknow by tomorrow evening,' a spokesperson confirmed. PWD engineers are also part of the investigation ensemble, which will thoroughly examine the building's material integrity.

On September 8, the Uttar Pradesh government formed a three-member committee to scrutinize the Lucknow building collapse episode. Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Secretary of the Home Department of Uttar Pradesh Government, has been appointed the Chairman of this committee. The investigation committee is entrusted with a detailed probe and is expected to submit its report to the government expediently. The collapse, which occurred on a Saturday, resulted in eight fatalities and 28 injuries.

Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Lok Bandhu Hospital in Lucknow on Sunday to meet the injured victims. He inquired about their recovery and consulted with doctors on their medical care. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also paid a visit to the victims at Lok Bandhu Hospital, following the tragic incident at Transport Nagar.
