During the 'Nigam Shikshak Samman Samaroh, 2024' event, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, a prominent Aam Aadmi Party leader, made a compelling case for increasing teachers' salaries to boost India's development by 2047. Sisodia underscored the vital role teachers play in shaping the nation's future and argued that educators' salaries should outpace those of IAS officers and Cabinet Secretaries, citing examples from developed countries.

Sisodia, along with other dignitaries, inaugurated the Teachers' Day event at the Civic Centre by lighting a ceremonial lamp, following the national song 'Vande Mataram' and a welcome speech from the Additional Commissioner of the Corporation. The event featured performances by children and was attended by MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi, Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal, and Leader of the House Mukesh Goyal.

Addressing the audience, Sisodia expressed his gratitude towards teachers, highlighting their influence on various aspects of life. He stressed that in developed countries, educators are remunerated more than administrators, using Germany and Switzerland as benchmarks. To achieve India's 2047 vision, Sisodia argued that policymakers should ensure teachers' salaries surpass those of bureaucrats. Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi echoed his sentiments, emphasizing the importance of moral values and social development instilled by teachers. The event concluded with the honoring of distinguished teachers and principals from MCD schools.
