In a significant stride towards ensuring the health and well-being of children aged 0-6 years, Mission Poshan 2.0 has achieved remarkable success with its Monthly Growth Monitoring initiative, Poshan Tracker. This innovative program has played a pivotal role in tracking the growth of millions of young lives, aligning with the theme of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024. By identifying and addressing growth issues early, Poshan Tracker has paved the way for targeted interventions, leading to improved nutritional outcomes for children across India.

On September 3, 2024, the Ministry of Women and Child Development was honored with the National Award for e-Governance 2024 (Gold) in Mumbai for its Poshan Tracker initiative. This award recognizes the government's commitment to process re-engineering and digital transformation in ensuring a healthier future for children through real-time monitoring and evaluation of their nutritional growth.

Mission Poshan 2.0 employs WHO growth charts as essential tools to track a child's growth over time. These charts plot key anthropometric measurements, such as height and weight, against age and sex-specific standards, providing a clear visual representation of a child's growth trajectory. Anganwadi Workers utilize this data to assess nutritional status, detect any deviations, and facilitate early interventions and support.

The Poshan Tracker, a state-of-the-art ICT application, is central to this process. It enables the timely identification and tracking of growth issues, supported by Growth Measuring Devices (GMD) available at each Anganwadi Center (AWC). Through accurate data entry and regular monitoring, the program has achieved impressive results.

Currently, Mission Poshan 2.0 covers an astounding 8.9 crore children aged 0-6 years, with 8.57 crore children measured in a single month through routine growth assessments. This extensive reach and impact underscore the program's dedication to transforming lives and ensuring a brighter, healthier future for India's youngest citizens.

By focusing on the early identification of health issues, comprehensive nutritional assessments, and tracking of developmental milestones, Mission Poshan 2.0 is not only enhancing health outcomes but also empowering communities to take charge of their children's well-being. As the program continues to evolve and expand, it remains a beacon of hope for a healthier, brighter future for India's children.
