State-owned NTPC announced on Thursday the commissioning of a 160 MW capacity as part of its 320 MW Bhainsara solar project located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

This successful installation elevates the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC group to 76,294 MW, the company revealed in a regulatory filing.

Following the successful commissioning, NTPC REL, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd through its wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd, began commercial operations starting August 28.
