Moradabad Municipal Corporation has elevated the city's aesthetic appeal with themes of patriotism, culture, health, and the environment, under its smart city initiative. Roads are now adorned with wall paintings commemorating the Kargil martyrs, along with murals celebrating Indian culture and iconic sports personalities.

This beautification effort is aimed at instilling a sense of nationalism among residents. Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh noted that this marks the initiative's second phase. 'Through this, we aim to brand the city in a way that inspires positivity,' he told ANI.

Singh highlighted that the state government is keen on expanding public facilities. 'The old city of Moradabad is congested, and expansion in outer areas is limited. With the Municipal Corporation's help, we seek to ensure both expansion and improved facilities,' he explained. Efforts to enhance parking, develop the bus station, and upgrade roads are also ongoing, he added.

'We aim to offer better parking facilities for residents' convenience. We are also beautifying the bus station to make waiting more pleasant. Additional improvements for pedestrian and road infrastructure are in progress,' Singh said. Moradabad is one of the smart cities selected under the Smart Cities Mission, launched by the Ministry of Urban Development in 2015, aiming to develop 100 smart cities across India for sustainable development.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved 12 new Industrial Smart Cities project proposals under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. With an estimated investment of Rs 28,602 crore, these projects aim to transform India's industrial network, significantly boosting economic growth and global competitiveness. (ANI)
