A Delhi court has strongly recommended departmental action against Investigation Officer (IO) SI Parveen Kumar for failing to obtain a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report for five years in a case concerning obstruction of a public way.

The court has issued a notice to the Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to expedite the inquiry and file the result. This case, registered at Dadar Bazar police station in 2019, is currently at the argument stage.

The court also demanded a reply from the Joint Commissioner of Police, under his personal signature, indicating deliberate negligence on the part of SI Parveen Kumar despite multiple reminders. Judicial Magistrate Gaurav Goyal emphasized the need for immediate departmental action against the IO.

A directive has been issued for a copy of this order to be sent to the Joint Commissioner of Police, Central Range, expecting a prompt reply by the next hearing date. A new notice was also issued to IO/SI Vikash Rathi, SHO PS Sadar Bazar, and ACP Sadar Bazar, mandating their appearance in court.

The court stressed that no exemptions will be entertained from the mentioned officers. Noting absences during previous hearings, the court found repeated adjournments unacceptable and has listed the matter for a late September hearing.
