Tripura CM Announces Rs 4,000 Aid for Flood-Affected Construction Workers

In a move to aid construction workers severely affected by the recent floods, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday declared a one-time financial assistance of Rs 4,000. The announcement, made on his social media platform, aims to alleviate the financial strain on workers who faced an eight-day halt in their livelihood.
The funds for this aid will come from the cess fund of the Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Saha emphasized that the entire state has been battling the floods since August 19, and this measure is designed to offer some respite to a deeply impacted sector.
According to Saha, Rs 17,19,24,000 has been allocated to benefit 42,981 registered construction workers. The distribution by district includes 13,148 workers in West Tripura, 5,899 in Sepahijala, 5,698 in Gomati, and others. This significant move aims to provide necessary relief to those hit hardest by the natural disaster.
