Small vehicles have been granted access to the Mussoorie-Kempty road, which was damaged by a landslide triggered by heavy rains in several Uttarakhand districts on Wednesday. The landslide had disrupted vehicular movement, but prompt repair work by the concerned department enabled the reopening, according to an official statement.

Executive Engineer Navneet Pandey told ANI, "Due to heavy rain last night, this part of the road has been damaged. We have opened it for small vehicles but for heavy vehicles, it will take some time. Roads ahead, till Mussoorie is open." The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued advisories for isolated heavy rainfall across most Uttarakhand districts, excluding Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.

The IMD's advisory forecasts isolated heavy rains in parts of Uttarakhand on August 27 and September 2. On August 23, debris from a hill had blocked the Badrinath National Highway in Chamoli, which was later cleared for vehicular movement. "The blocked Badrinath National Highway near Gulabkoti and Paganala has been opened. Work is underway to open other roads," Chamoli police said on X. Continuous downpours have severely disrupted daily life in Uttarakhand.
