BJP legislator Janak Raj from the Bharmour Assembly constituency in Himachal Pradesh has urgently called on authorities to address the plight of over 20,000 pilgrims stranded on the Manimahesh Pilgrimage trek. Raj described the current state of the trek as a 'complete failure on the part of the government,' noting the path's poor condition and lack of adequate support.

Expressing his concern, Raj highlighted that devotees are compelled to create walkable paths themselves amidst their journey to the sacred Manimahesh peak. Furthermore, he criticized the Rs. 20 registration fee levied on pilgrims given the deficient government arrangements for essential facilities like roads, paths, and security.

Raj's frustration was evident as he pointed out the glaring absence of basic infrastructure and safety measures despite collected fees. He stated that the system had 'collapsed,' with no visible police or administrative presence. He urged immediate action to improve the pilgrimage route's condition, ensuring better safety and support for the pilgrims.
