Uttrakhand CM Dhami Announces 10% Reservation For State Agitators

In a significant move, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with representatives from the Uttarakhand Rajya Andolankari Manch on Saturday to announce a 10% horizontal reservation in government jobs for the state agitators. CM Dhami expressed his gratitude and acknowledged their crucial role in the formation of the state.
Emphasizing his witness to the state formation movement, Dhami assured that the sacrifices made by the state agitators would never be forgotten. He highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring the agitators and their dependents receive adequate facilities, including prioritizing their pension and benefits.
Dhami also spoke about the continuous development in Uttarakhand and praised the state for topping NITI Aayog's development index. Under PM Narendra Modi's guidance, substantial central schemes worth Rs 2 lakh crores are being implemented. Efforts towards a drug-free state, industrial investments, and solving illegal encroachments reflect the state's progressive stride. Notably, about 5,000 acres of land have been reclaimed from illegal encroachment.
