In a scathing attack on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the upcoming elections, Jammu-Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina accused PDP, along with National Conference (NC) and Congress, of trying to 'incite violence' in the region. The criticism came as PDP unveiled a manifesto advocating for the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A, among other diplomatic initiatives.
'The manifesto of the National Conference and PDP is aimed at inciting violence in Jammu and Kashmir. The National Conference, PDP, and Congress want the sounds of bombs, guns, bullets, and grenades to continue echoing in Jammu and Kashmir, and they have always played politics with this issue,' Raina stated. He further alleged that these parties are unsettled by the peace that is gradually returning to the region.
BJP leader and former Deputy CM of Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder Gupta, also criticized the PDP's manifesto, calling it a 'copy-paste' of the NC's manifesto. Gupta accused these parties of attempting to turn the valley back into a troubled region by promising the release of stone-pelters and initiating talks with Pakistan. Meanwhile, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti stressed her party's commitment to solving the Kashmir issue through alliances based on shared agendas, not just seat sharing.
