Punjab Police Extradites 2016 Nabha Jailbreak Mastermind from Hong Kong

Punjab Police has successfully extradited Ramanjit Singh alias Romy, the mastermind behind the 2016 Nabha Jailbreak, from Hong Kong. This significant operation involved the Anti-Gangster Task Force and widespread international cooperation. Romy was a key conspirator in the jailbreak which freed six notorious inmates.

Punjab Police has successfully secured the extradition of Ramanjit Singh, also known as Romy, the mastermind behind the 2016 Nabha Jailbreak, from Hong Kong. The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police facilitated this operation, as confirmed by the Information And Public Relations Department, Punjab.

On social media platform X, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, stated, "After tireless efforts by @PunjabPoliceInd, Romy, the key conspirator, is being brought back today to face justice. He was in touch with #ISI and other escaped prisoners, including Harminder Singh Mintu and Kashmir Singh Galwaddi of the Khalistan Liberation Force (#KLF)."

DGP Yadav expressed gratitude towards the Hong Kong authorities, the CBI, Ministry of Home Affairs, and other central agencies for their cooperation. The jailbreak on November 27, 2016, saw six high-profile inmates escape, including Harminder Singh alias Mintu and Kashmir Singh alias Galwaddi. Romy had provided logistical and financial support for the jailbreak, and was declared a proclaimed offender thereafter.
