In a significant development, a Delhi court directed the police to ensure the immediate security of a woman wrestler scheduled to testify in the Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh sexual harassment case. The directive came after an urgent hearing at the Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday.

The court's decision followed complaints from three women wrestlers who reported the withdrawal of security for the complainant. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate issued an interim order mandating immediate security arrangements for the woman set to testify, directing the DCP to maintain these measures until her deposition is completed.

Furthermore, the court has issued a notice to the DCP and requested a compliance report by August 23. The court also reviewed an affidavit by the DCP New Delhi, previously submitted to the Supreme Court, confirming that security had been provided based on threat assessments. The recent withdrawal of this security, just a day before the scheduled testimony, led to immediate legal action.
