On Thursday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Ghutthu-Panja-Devling area of Tehri district, overseeing relief and rescue operations following extensive damage caused by severe rains and a disastrous cloudburst. The Chief Minister met with Durga Devi, a resident of Malethi affected by the disaster, assuring her of all possible assistance.

CM Dhami highlighted the significant damages, noting several houses and livestock were impacted by the heavy cloudbursts in Ghutthu. He instructed the District Administration to expedite aid, assess, and reconstruct the disaster-hit areas. He emphasized that a lack of funds will not hinder reconstruction work and expressed urgency in compensating the victims.

Responding to local complaints, Dhami directed a re-examination of houses affected by Ghutthu Hydro Power. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit reported that 29 buildings were damaged, with compensation provided to some affected households. Displaced families have been accommodated in relief camps, and restoration efforts for infrastructural damage are ongoing.

The CM also mentioned the unfortunate loss of 17 animals and significant agricultural damage affecting 450 families. Efforts for restoring road connectivity and essential services like drinking water and electricity are in progress. Dhami assured that once the situation stabilizes, further actions, including village relocation, will be undertaken as needed.
