During a ministerial meeting, India and the US delved into the possibilities of technical exchanges and financial support aimed at upgrading grid transmission to handle future load growth, according to an official statement from the power ministry.
The dialogue also covered policy consultations to advance modernization efforts in the energy sector. Union Minister for Power Manohar Lal and Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Naik held discussions with the US delegation led by John Podesta, Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy.
Lal highlighted the long-standing India-US partnership and the commitment to a clean energy future. Both nations expressed their interest in deepening cooperation on clean energy, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency, with a focus on manufacturing capacity, grid-scale battery storage solutions, and high-efficiency air conditioning systems.
