Congress leader Sachin Pilot has expressed strong confidence that the INDIA alliance will secure victory in all 10 seats in the upcoming by-elections for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. During his visit to Lucknow on Wednesday, Pilot remarked, 'There are by-elections on 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh and the INDIA alliance will win in all 10 seats.'

He further elaborated that the atmosphere across the country changed after the Lok Sabha election results, citing that the central government's predictions of a sweeping win failed. Pilot emphasized that the central government has been forced to reverse many of its decisions, and citizens are increasingly questioning the government's decision-making capabilities.

'A reflection of this will be visible in the by-election also. Our alliance is very strong,' he added. The by-polls are being conducted after nine MLAs were elected as MPs in this year's Lok Sabha elections, and the MLA of Sishamau was disqualified following a criminal conviction. Although the polling dates have not been announced yet, the anticipation is building.

In the 2022 Assembly elections, out of 493 seats, the BJP secured 255, the Samajwadi Party 111, and the Congress just two. However, of the 10 seats now up for by-elections, five were won by the Samajwadi Party, three by the BJP, and one each by NDA allies, NISHAD party, and Rashtriya Lok Dal.

In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 33 out of 80 parliamentary seats in Uttar Pradesh, with allies RLD and Apna Dal (Soneylal) winning two and one, respectively. Conversely, the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP captured 37 seats, while the INDIA partner Congress won six seats. (ANI)
