Brookfield's Rs 50,000 Crore Renewable Energy Investment in Andhra Pradesh
Brookfield, a global real assets operator, plans to invest Rs 50,000 crore in renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh over the next 3-5 years. The Canadian company's focus will be on solar and wind projects, aiming to install 8,873 MW in total. Investments will also cover battery storage and electric vehicles.

Brookfield, a leading global operator of real assets, has announced plans to invest over Rs 50,000 crore in renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh over the next three to five years. The initiative will put emphasis on wind and solar formats.
A delegation from the Canadian company, along with Indian partners, met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Energy Minister G Ravi Kumar in Amaravati on Tuesday to discuss the proposal. Evren, a clean energy venture promoted by Brookfield and Axis Energy, has committed to these investments.
The renewable energy projects will primarily be located in the Rayalaseema region, including Kurnool and Anantapur. By 2027, the plans are to install 8,873 MW of combined solar and wind energy capacities. Additional investments will target integrated module manufacturing, battery storage, and electric vehicles.
