Several parts of Delhi descended into chaos as heavy rainfall on Tuesday triggered severe traffic congestion and widespread waterlogging. Commuters found themselves grappling with submerged vehicles and impassable roads, significantly disrupting daily life.

Key areas including the NSUI Office, ITO, Raisina, and Jantar Mantar were heavily affected, with severe waterlogging reported near Ashram Bridge and Minto Road. An autorickshaw driver, Munil Mehto, described how his vehicle became submerged, leaving him stranded and seeking help from fellow commuters.

The situation quickly escalated into a political spat, as the Delhi BJP Unit criticized Delhi Minister Atishi and the AAP government for the recurring waterlogging issues. In response, Water Minister Atishi directed the Chief Secretary to mobilize teams to address sewer overflow and water contamination, aiming for both short-term and long-term solutions. The IMD has forecasted more light-to-moderate rainfall for Delhi, warning of intense spells in Central and East Delhi.
