Two individuals have been apprehended by Pune police in connection with blood sample manipulation in the highly publicized 'Pune Porsche crash' case, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar disclosed. The arrests took place on Monday night, facilitated by the Pune crime branch. Allegedly, they were involved in swapping blood samples of two associates of the primary minor suspect who were present in the vehicle during the fatal accident. The accused are scheduled for a court appearance regarding remand on Tuesday. Ongoing investigations are expected to shed more light on the matter.

In July, the Pune crime branch registered a case against the parents of the minor defendant and Sassoon Hospital doctors, alleging conspiracy to tamper with evidence and manipulate blood samples. The case pertains to a May 19 incident where a Porsche, purportedly driven by an intoxicated minor, struck and killed two IT professionals in Pune's Kalyani Nagar.

A national outcry ensued following the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB)'s decision to grant the minor bail on lenient terms such as composing a 300-word road safety essay. This uproar prompted the Women and Child Development Department to form a panel investigating the JJB's conduct in granting bail.

As part of his bail, the minor was required to write an essay on road safety, emphasizing the importance of responsible driving and the consequences of reckless behavior. The minor's Porsche collided with two IT professionals' bike, resulting in their immediate deaths on the evening of May 19.

The Pune police have submitted a comprehensive 900-page chargesheet against seven individuals, including the juvenile's parents. The primary case against the minor continues before the Juvenile Justice Board. The Pune crime branch has charged the minor's parents and Sassoon Hospital doctors with evidence tampering and blood sample manipulation. (ANI)
