Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has raised serious accusations against Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, alleging that the Governor is acting as a puppet of the Central Government. Siddaramaiah's remarks follow Gehlot's decision to grant permission for the Chief Minister's prosecution in the alleged MUDA scam, a move Siddaramaiah claims is aimed at destabilizing the elected government.

Addressing the media in response to the Governor's approval of his prosecution in the MUDA land allocation case, Siddaramaiah stated, 'This is an unconstitutional move, and we will challenge it legally.' He further alleged that a significant conspiracy is being orchestrated by the BJP, JD(S), and other local leaders to topple the state government, drawing parallels to similar efforts in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Delhi.

The Chief Minister firmly stated that there is no valid case against him and accused the Governor's decision of being politically motivated. Despite the developments, Siddaramaiah emphasized that he has no plans to resign and highlighted the robust support from party leaders, legislators, and cabinet ministers. He criticized the BJP for what he sees as a lack of moral authority to demand his resignation and condemned the Central Government for opposing social justice and the welfare schemes introduced by the Congress government.

Siddaramaiah also pointed out that Governor Gehlot has not taken action against other leaders like former CM HD Kumaraswamy, Murugesh Nirani, Shashikala Jolle, and Janardhan Reddy, despite complaints against them. He noted that a complaint against Kumaraswamy for unauthorized mining licenses, filed in November, has seen no progress. The allegations against Siddaramaiah and nine others stem from a complaint by social activist Snehamayi Krishna, accusing them of forging documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
